Minister of  Social Transformation, Local Government and Community Empowerment, Harold Dalsan

Medical practitioners have ruled out cancer as the reason for Government Minister Harold Dalsan’s ailment.

The public has been raising concern about Dalsan’s health status following speculation by radio announcer Sam “Juke Bois” Flood, who claimed the minister of  social transformation, local government and community empowerment has prostate cancer.

But government has sought to clear the air stating “this is not the case.”

In fact specialised investigations, as cited in a medical report, have indicated a presence of “a right sided C5/6 disc prolapsed as the proximate cause of the ongoing neck pain with brachalgia”.

Consultant orthopedic surgeons have recommended operative intervention to correct Dalsan’s problem. He has consulted with local medical doctors and a medical team in Cuba about his persistent neck pain.

He would like radio announcers to be “sensitive and factual” in reporting of matters related to his health, since according to him, the misinformation has caused unnecessary panic and stress in his constituency.

The parliamentary representative for Soufriere/Fond St. Jacques has thanked those who called or sent electronic messages in the wake of his condition. Dalsan said this, in no way, compromises his ability to undertake his current duties since he went through a similar process 20 years ago.

In the meantime, he is on  leave. Senator Kentry Jn. Pierre has been appointed to act in his ministerial post  until the end of Dalsan’s 20-day vacation leave.
