The 2014 Inter Department Small Goal Football competition came to a thrilling conclusion on Wednesday, March 19 during an epic finals clash between the Projects Department and Grounds and Security. The competition which was first launched in, 2007 was revived this year after a few years of inactivity.
This year’s competition which began on February 4, 2014 saw the participation of eight teams representing all hotel departments. During this period footballers with the support of fellow staff members have been engaged in very intensive and competitive matches that were played on afternoons from 4 p.m.
Hotel General Manager Mark Hawken who attended the exciting finals expressed pleasure with the level on interest generated among staff.

“We continue to encourage and support activities like this through our Sports and Social Committee. This event is just one of the many incentives and benefits we provide for our staff which promotes harmony, teamwork and a positive working spirit”, Hawken explained.
The winner of this year’s competition for the Coconut Bay Inter Department Football Championship was the Grounds and Security team which defeated Projects 2-0. The winning team captured the championship trophy and medals for each player.
The 2014 Coconut Bay Inter Department Football Competition was held at the hotel’s on property playing field which is maintained for the recreational pleasure of visitors and staff.
