The Division of Gender Relations will begin its annual Jump Start Mentoring Programme for Girls on Tuesday, March 25.

The programme, which is in its third year, is being organized as part of activities for this year’s observance of International Women’s Day. The Jump Start Mentoring Programme is intended to link career-oriented young women and girls with professional women within their work setting, where they will be motivated and inspired to make decisions about future careers and professions from the examples of women working successfully in their chosen fields.

The theme for this year’s event is “Inspiring Change Rising to Excellence.” Girls from all secondary schools around the island have been invited to participate in the programme, which will be facilitated by Human Resource Development Consultant Marcelline Chitolie.

Meanwhile, another activity which was staged for International Women’s Day 2014, the “Women Inspiring Change Pictorial Display,” will be open for public viewing at the Soufriere Library from Monday, March 24 to Friday, March 28. This year’s observance will culminate when the display moves to the Hunter J. Francois Library at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community where it will run from March 31 to April 4.
