The management of St. Lucia Marine Terminals Ltd. and officials from the National Workers Union (NWU) has satisfactorily completed industrial negotiations.
Clerical, mechanical and technical workers employed with the company at its port operations in Vieux Fort would benefit from the new industrial accord between the company and the NWU.
Workers will receive an eight percent general wage increase that would run for the 2011-2014 period with back pay effective from 2011.
The parties were able to establish a new pay structure with the components of reclassification, adjustments and revised wage scales being set as the foundation.
It is expected that the new industrial package will be signed shortly.
