Looshan Line Jam scheduled for Monday May 20th, 2013 is an annual event coordinated and presented by Mas Action…The Band.
The event is sanctioned by the CDF and is enjoyed as the pre cursor to Lucian Mas.
This event was born out of the desire to jump start the St Lucia Carnival season after jazz activities which would have taken stage during the months leading up to carnival.
Looshan Line Jam was first held in 1996 and has now grown to be one of the largest events on the St Lucia carnival calendar with participants jumping around the city in a carnival like atmosphere.
Looshan Line Jam has also been viewed as a stage where calypsonians namely the power and groovy soca artists launch their material for the carnival season.
The impact of the event is being felt on the carnival circuit as it has been one of the contributing factors to the increasing participation at the carnival band level. Looshan Line Jam 2k13 is sponsored by Joseph Shipping, LIME, Carib Beer, Bounty Rum, J.P. Chenet, Blue Waters.
Looshan Line Jam begins at 12 pm at the Vigie Sports Complex. Participants hit the road at 1 pm and parade the streets of Castries until 6pm. The activity then continues at the grounds of the Vigie Sports Complex where there will be lots of prizes to be won.
Only registered participants will be allowed to parade. This year’s Looshan Line Jam will feature the Secret Solo Band and other local soca acts.
Registration and sale of our $30.00 T-Shirt packages continues this Saturday May 18th on the William Peter Boulevard from 9 am. until. Packages will cost $40.00 after May 18th and will be available on the grounds of the sports complex on Monday morning. Come enjoy specials from all of our sponsors, updates on our band and lots more!
