‘Together for a better Saint Lucia’ was the theme that governed the official start week of activities for the Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA) 50th anniversary.
Opening with a gala dinner, June 16, 2014 was the date chosen for the William Jefferson Clinton Ballroom at the Sandals Grande Saint Lucian to come alive.
The Golden Jubilee dinner was well attended and served as a networking forum, which allowed for policy makers to interact with industry operators and an exchange of experiences and thoughts between the two.
As the theme for the SLHTA’s 50th Anniversary celebrations was “Together for a better Saint Lucia” a call from the tourism industry for reinforced linkages and intensive cross-sectorial dialogue on how tourism can increase socio-economic gains for our island was met. The dinner was designed to function as a private and confidential forum to facilitate open discussion on the way forward for the industry.
Additionally, the SLHTA celebrated some of its partners and pioneers with the presentation of a Life Time Achievement award as well as entertaining presentations from a wide range of artistes.
