Two titles in five days.
After winning the 2014 Piton Soca Starz title on Sunday, June 29 in Fond D’or, Dennery, Gervan ‘Subance’ Janvier from Grand Ravine, Dennery captured the first ever Dennery Soca Monarch crown on Friday, July 4 with the song ‘Chiney Wine’.
The event was held at the Multi-Purpose Ground.
Nevin ‘Mighty’ Alexander, who finished third in Soca Starz, finished second last night with the song ‘Gros Lo’. Pewee, with ‘Chockay’, got the third spot.
Speaking to St. Lucia News Online about his victory, the 22-year-old Subance said: “It was great because I am the first Soca Monarch king in Dennery. It was a great competition. (We have) good artistes from Dennery. We will keep on doing it for our fans and family.”
