PRESS RELEASE - The National Volunteer Coordinating Office – Office of the Prime Minister, wishes to congratulate the members of the Saint Lucia Cadet Corps who are returning home today after participating in the 2014 Caribbean Cadet Camp in Port Antonio, Jamaica.

We were reliably informed by their Corps PR department that our young Saint Lucians captured second place overall after participating in adventurous and Para Military Competitions. The Main Competition being the PJ Patterson Shoot.

Thanks for making Saint Lucia proud.

Coordinator of the National Volunteer Programme Cyril J Saltibus who himself went through the ranks of the Saint Lucia Cadet Corps, attaining the rank of Captain and served in the capacity as Unit Officer, Company Commandant, Cadet Corps Training Office and finally as Adjutant; says that he is proud of this organization and the impact it had and continue to have on many Saint Lucians.

He added that if every Secondary School Student spent at least two to three years being trained by the Cadet Corps, our youth would have a more positive outlook on life.
