Kerniya will be representing her community -Agard Lands in this year’s pageant.
The 18-year-old beauty currently attends the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College and is pursuing studies in Business Administration.
Kerniya says she enjoys modeling, singing, and contemporary dance. “It brings me back into the cultural world of dance which is very interesting,” she adds.
But, apart from that the teen beauty like playing games of marble, bamboo bursting, and kabowe.
Her love for local culture began with the annual Jounen Kwéyòle, where she participated in dances, such as, kwadril. Kerniya says she also enjoys chante a kwéyòle.
The gorgeous teenager said she values her creole language and uses it often.
Kerniya hopes to use her participation in the pageant to educate locals, especially youths, of the importance of maintaining creole culture and language.
