PRESS RELEASE - Coconut Bay Beach Resort and SPA announces the second cycle of its Cocoland Cares program.
The program is coming on stream to coincide with the re-opening of the new school year on Monday, 1st, September, 2014. The continuation of this program represents the fulfillment on a promised commitment to Saint Lucian Pre-Schoolers by hotel owner Gary “Butch” Hendrickson.
The Cocoland Cares program, launched in April, 2014, provides packages of high-quality learning materials to over 120 preschools on the island. During the launch, Minister of Education Hon. Robert Lewis registered his Ministry’s endorsement of the program. At that same ceremony Mr. Hendrickson pledged to make the program a yearly undertaking.
He indicated his hope for the program to have a positive impact on the process of Early Childhood Education. His vision then and now is: “that the children of Saint Lucia can benefit from an early and firm grounding in terms of those critical skills that they require to make them more effective citizens by way of their contribution to national development.”
The Cocoland Cares Program provides learning materials designed to stimulate and support motto, social, literacy and language skills development in our nation’s children.
