Winner Fashionista Competition

PRESS RELEASE - Nine designers turned ordinary into extraordinary in their unveiling of what has been dubbed the most innovative fashion events to date, in St. Lucia.

Kashima Noel, Nancy Celestin, Harchanna Phillips, Luan Wilson, Solange Alfred, Noelina ST. Ange, Nickita John, Quincy Farrell and Sharleen Lagon were the top nine designers selected to participate in the Courts first ever Fashionista Competition.

The finalist, more amateur designers than professionals, were invited to pick up a copy of the Courts Fashionable furniture brochure, select a product that captures their attention and make a design based on that particular product.

The event, held at Courts on the Chaussee, saw in attendance family, friends, well-wishers of the finalists as well as eager and supportive customers of Courts. The 20 ft. long catwalk on the first floor of the store saw nine very talented models ripping the run way, in the awe inspiring designs. The final pieces exceeded most expectations, as floor length dresses, business suits; casual clothing and elegant dresses represented the designers’ depictions.

Miss Noelina St. Ange a Newbie in the game was surely a force to reckon with, as she wowed both judges and audience alike in her depiction of the Tenorio Dinging set. In the end, she was overjoyed with her placement as 3rd Runner Up. Quincy Farrell’s conceptualization of the Darcy sectional stole breaths, as his model, slowly and elegantly, captured the audience’s attention till the end. He was surely a crowd favourite and his strong sewing and creative skills earned him the well-deserved first runner up position.

Nothing else can describe the look of awe and amazement as Sharleen Lagon representation of the Rayville Chest of Drawers came centre stage. It was a design never before seen and the hand painted bamboos on the back of the design guaranteed a sure win for the designer. Popular for her exemplary work, she did not disappoint. Sharleen Lagon walked away with over $3000 in cash and prizes compliments Courts.

The management and staff of Courts would like to extend congratulations to Miss Sharleen Lagon once again.
