Kimani Melius led Babonneau Secondary to another handsome win in the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Secondary Schools Cricket Tournament on Monday.
With the win, by 180 runs over Corinth Secondary, Babonneau emerged winners of Group E.
Babonneau took first knock, making 231 for 9. Kimani, just 12 years old, made his second consecutive century of the tournament, 126, with six fours and 15 sixes. The next highest scorers for Babonneau made 27 and 25. Corinth Secondary’s Lerry Auguste took three wickets for 32 runs.
Corinth Secondary lasted a mere 10 overs and was bowled out for just 51. Stavone Gabriel recorded the tournament’s third hat trick, taking all three of his wickets in a single over, giving up just two runs. Leon Benjamin was 2-6 and Yannel Robinson 2-17.
In Group B, George Charles Secondary beat Ciceron Secondary by 86 runs. George Charles made 155 in 18 overs. Daniel Alphonse top scored with 61 and Kervin Francois added 51. Giovanni Clement took 5-47, Arkeil Joseph 3-23.
Ciceron Secondary in reply was bowled out for 70 in 11.4 overs, Joseph 21 and Clement 12. Bowling for George Charles Secondary, Alphonse was 4-17, Shane Aurelien 2-5, Courtney Modeste 2-8 and Alex Eugene 2-12.
