PRESS RELEASE - eZone St. Lucia, with offices in Vide Boutille and Vieux Forte, is launching their Customer Recycling Programme on December 1, 2014. Pauline Wolfe, Managing Director, said, “eZone views recycling as a simple way to reduce our environmental footprint in St. Lucia … and we are committed to helping our customers do the same.”
Starting in December, eZone representatives will encourage customers to leave their cardboard behind, and they will make sure it does not wind up in the landfill. The cardboard waste will get recycled through Greening the Caribbean – an on-island environmental service provider that establishes work place recycling programmes. Customers may also drop off their flattened cardboard at the nearest eZone location.
eZone ships 35,000 packages every month within their service area, St. Lucia included. “Most of the packages received by our customers arrive in cardboard boxes,” continued Miss Wolfe,“ it makes sense to start by diverting this cardboard from the landfill.”
eZone is an international shopping & delivery service that uses ecommerce technologies, allowing consumers and businesses to purchase items in the United States and Europe from virtually anywhere. eZone receives customer parcels, prepares them for transport and sends them via economical air express.
“Cardboard makes up ten percent of landfill deposits. Businesses are unaware that recycling this stuff saves nine cubic yards of landfill space for every ton of cardboard recycled. It is a simple way to start greening their business,” said Ravon Henville, Materials Recovery Manager with Greening the Caribbean.
“Our services open up many new shopping opportunities to our customers, but we don’t want this increase in imports to be at the cost of the beauty and splendor of the communities we serve” say the owners of eZone.
“By initiating recycling programs throughout our service area, we hope to mitigate our impact on the region.”
Greening the Caribbean is ISO 26000 compliant, meaning that their business practices are ethical and transparent and contributes to the health and welfare of society. They provide waste diversion training, recycling education, as well as the collection, transport and ensure processing of recyclables – paper, cardboard, e-waste, plastic, glass and metal.
eZone offers small package courier service to customers in the Caribbean, South & Central America, Europe and Africa. Launched in Miami in 2003, eZone currently services 25 destinations, with planned growth in existing regions as well as expansion into new trade routes to keep up with international Internet shopping demand.
