PRESS RELEASE - A Music festival and a Sport Fiesta are two events to be staged in Gros Islet this weekend by the Gros Islet Constituency group of the Saint Lucia Labour Party, as the group continues its programme for December 2014.
The new activities, which are designed for families to enjoy together, commence with:
A Fun Sports meet at the Gros Islet playing field on Saturday 13th December in observance of National Day. The meet runs off at 10:00am and will involve fun events like: Egg Throwing Challenge, Greasy Pole, Tug of War, Lime and Spoon, Sack, Wheel Barrow and Three Legged races; in addition to traditional sprint events.
The meet caters for a variety of age groups starting from Under 9 to under 16 and 40 and over.
The second event- the Music Festival takes place at the Grande Riviere Primary School in Gros Islet on Sunday 14th December from 2:30pm.
Nine choirs from churches in the Gros Islet community as well as the Grande Riviere Primary School, the Gros Islet Primary School, Corinth Secondary School and the Charles Cadet Youth Orchestra from Anse La Raye will perform. The public is invited.
