Central, Soufriere clash for T20 glory

Central Castries will welcome the return of Windward Islands Volcanoes and Saint Lucia Zouks middle order batsman Keddy Lesporis, as they seek to complete the double of domestic cricket titles this weekend.

Lesporis, who is contracted to the Volcanoes for the West Indies Cricket Board’s Professional Cricket League, will boost the batting of the boys from the city, one week after they triumphed over Mon Repos for the Mindoo Phillip Two-Day Tournament title.

This time around, Central will be facing off against Soufriere for the Bank of Saint Lucia Twenty20 Slog Fest crown. In this, the third edition of the competition, there will be a first-time winner.

The game may be complicated for Central by dint of its venue, the Soufriere Stadium. The final is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, preceded by a veterans T20 exhibition game between a Soufriere District Representative 11 and a SLNCA Representative 11 at 2:30 p.m.

This year’s BOSL T20 champions will walk away with EC$4,000 in prize money, while the losing team place team will pocket $2,000.

Patrons attending the matches will pay an entrance fee of $5. They will also be eligible to win a trip to a Caribbean destination compliments My Kind of Travel as well as other giveaways compliments other sponsors associated with the competition.
