Dear Willie: I am 19 years old and I am in love with a 33-year-old. We have a one-year-old child together.
I love this guy more than anything in this world but he lives in the UK with his child’s mother. He tells me they live in separate rooms.
He comes to see me very often and loves his son. My family don’t like it and put me out. Now, I am living all alone. I don’t know what to do. He says he loves me and put my picture as his display picture on Whatsapp and Instagram, but I really don’t know what’s going on in the house.
Dear Miss: We must learn to leave people man alone. You know he has a girlfriend – a baby mother at that – and you get yourself caught up.
Sleeping in separate bedrooms mean nothing. He is just telling you that to give you a false sense of security. And if it is indeed true, what would stop either of them from invading each other’s bedrooms?
If you’re wondering what’s going on the house, the answer is they’re screwing. I don’t need a crystal ball to tell you that.
He has you on a leash and making good use of you. Posting your pic on Whatsapp and Instagram means nothing. He is slick.
What you’re doing is not right. Even your family realises that. You’re young and won’t understand just yet.
To test him, ask him to have you and the child relocate to the UK to live in the same house with him, and hear what he says. If he comes up with excuses then that’s the red flag you have not been seeing.
Willie
