PRESS RELEASE - The Management of Secure St. Lucia Ltd. and officials of the National Workers Union (NWU) will meet on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Department of Labour.
The Security Company and the NWU will be meeting at conciliatory level to discuss and resolve an Overtime Compensation claim submitted by the NWU on behalf of Security Guards employed with the company.
The NWU said that prior to being granted official recognition, an investigation was undertaken by the union which revealed that workers were working long overtime and were not being compensated. Documents have been compiled which could be used as a guide along with a cut- off point.
Last year, the NWU filed a similar claim on behalf of workers of another security firm. The Union was successful in its demands.
