A man accused of stealing $18,000 and other documents from Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in Vieux Fort has pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned in court yesterday, April 25.
Merlan Mark is one of two men accused of entering the popular fast food chain between 1 am and 7 am on Sept. 27, 2010 and stealing the cash and other important documents.
Mark is scheduled to return to court on June 12, 2013 for a trial date.
The other defendant in the case, Ryan Canchon, has failed to appear in court since his bail was approved in 2010. The bail money has already been forfeited to the crown.
As such indictment of the two men was separated and Mark was finally arraigned yesterday.
