PRESS RELEASE – The National Workers Union (NWU) will be celebrating May Day 2016, Workers Day with a difference.
The NWU will be holding a Shop Stewards Awards Evening on May 1st 2016 from 7.00 p.m. at the Royal by Rex Resort, Reduit Beach, Gros Islet.
Twenty-eight (28) Shop Stewards from divisional units of the organization will, on that day, be honoured by the union for their constructive contribution in maintaining a healthy industrial relations climate within their work stations, and for valiantly defending economic and social gains achieved by the union on behalf of their members at branch levels.
Guests will be welcomed by Cde Tarbula Amedee, Deputy President General of the NWU and addressed briefly by Mrs. Margaret Monplaisir, Managing Director of St. Lucia Distillers Ltd. Mr. Andrew Quashie, Deputy Labour Commissioner, will deliver the Feature Address to be followed by the presentation of the Awards.
A Cocktail Reception has been organized for social interaction afterwards.
