8126110d-80bb-4a35-9280-4d7f7cdb057cPRESS RELEASE – On Sunday April 10th 9:00 a.m. Trinity Lutheran Church begins a four part sermon series on employment.
In light of the unemployment struggles and economic times, Pastors Tom Spiegelberg and Bramdeo Ramgolam wish to address the struggles from the pulpit.
“Work and employment are a huge part of our lives,” says Pastor Tom Spiegelberg. “We are facing an unprecedented amount of suicides in our country.  Some of that can be linked to the struggles of economy.  Unemployment in men has been linked to low self esteem and feelings of hopelessness.  Statistically in the U.S., more suicides happen on Monday morning between the hours of 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. than any other time of the week…  right before going to work.” The veteran pastoral counselor says, “God created us to work.  We live in a broken world.  When we can’t carry out God’s purpose for us, we struggle in many ways.”
Having been encouraged by Kendal Burton, a member of the local media to use the pulpit to address challenges in society, the leadership staff at Trinity Lutheran has designed a four week sermon series entitled, “Give Me a Job!”  The sermon series focuses on the relationship of a human being with work.
As encouragement, the leadership team has also established prayer group meetings weekly from Rodney Bay to La Clery.  Open to anyone, the groups come together on a weekly basis to pray for one another and address ways to improve jobs and work in their communities.  They are often referred to as “Sticky Groups” because the prayer groups help the communities and church “stick” together.
Trinity Lutheran Church worships at 9:00 a.m.on Sunday mornings followed by adult and youth Bible class.  The prayer groups meet at various times and places throughout the week.  Call 287-7260 for more information.
Trinity Lutheran Church is a protestant Christian church.  Trinity Lutheran also runs TLC Early Childhood Development Centre, a preschool for children ages 2 ½ to 5.
